Raw materials used for its production:
Limestone: rocks comprising of minimum 90% CaCO3 (calcium carbonate).
Marn: Limestone having silica, clay materials and iron oxide.
Iron ore: Iron ore being in the form of hematite in nature is used as the ripening facilitator in cement industry.
Bauxide: Bauxide comprising of SiO2 and Al2O3 and being an aluminum ore is used as aluminum enricher.
Raw meal: It is the homogenous mixture comprising of oxide of raw materials obtained by grinding limestone, marn, iron ore and Bauxide (CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3 and little other oxides).
SR5 (Type V) Clinker: It is obtained by preparing raw meal to allow C3A phase be within the necessary limits and by sintering at about 1450°C. It is used for sulphate-resistant cement production. It is a hydraulic material containing minimum 2/3 calcium silicate by mass and remaining comprises of aluminum and iron containing clinker phase and other compounds.
